Desmend Jetton

Program Intern, ISTC/I

As the Program Intern for the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition and Institute, Desmend is responsible for all organizational marketing, outreach, and digital efforts, and provides research and editorial assistance with press releases and the ISTC publications: the ISTC Catalyst and the Illinois Innovation Index.

Prior to this position, Desmend served as the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Access Specialist for Illinois Tech’s Global Leaders Program, curating new mentors for student leaders in the Chicagoland Area. Desmend also served as a City Year Los Angeles Corps Member, a national non-profit dedicated to ending the high school dropout crisis.

Desmend received his BA in Media Arts and Culture from Occidental College in Los Angeles, is originally from Las Vegas, NV and enjoys playing rugby in his spare time.
