Vivek Mehta is a seasoned executive with global experience in strategic planning, business transformation, M&A integration, and operational excellence across multiple industries (including health care, financial services, and technology) spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Vivek is an innovative partner focused on building distinctive strategies and delivering customer-centric solutions to create sustainable competitive advantage and long-term value by utilizing his leadership experience in innovation strategy, investment portfolio management, technology roadmaps, enterprise architecture, and process reengineering. Vivek is a recognized leader in executing large scale strategic initiatives and organizational transformations in Fortune 500 companies by leading global teams of hundreds of employees. Currently, Vivek Mehta is the Chief Information Security Officer with NORC at the University of Chicago, where he is responsible for managing information technology and cybersecurity strategy and operations to protect digital assets and ensure data privacy and compliance.
Prior to joining NORC, he served as the Chief Information and Innovation Officer at Sinai Health System, where he created Sinai Innovation Studio to drive digital transformation. Vivek also held senior leadership roles at Ascension Health, U.S. Bancorp and Mastercard where he led strategic planning, product development, large scale ERP and CRM system implementations, legacy infrastructure modernization and technology operations. In addition, Vivek brings 10+ years of consulting practice management experience where he nurtured executive client relationships, created service offerings, led business development, oversaw global service delivery, and grew revenue and EBITDA.
Vivek is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and the Private Directors Association (PDA). He currently serves on the board of the Child Care Aware of Missouri. Vivek earned an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and attended executive education programs at Harvard and Columbia Business Schools. He also holds the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) credential from ISACA. Vivek presented at the Med Invest conference in Chicago and the Center for Digital Innovation conference in Tel Aviv.
Vivek’s interests include economic development through public-private partnerships, innovation ecosystems, and STEM education. Vivek is passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance ( ESG) issues.
