Highlights from NanoNow: An Illinois Science &
Technology Forum
Top researchers, business, academic and government leaders from
throughout Illinois gathered recently at the University of
Chicago's Gleacher Center to participate in a conversation with
several internationally recognized authorities on
nanotechnology. Panelists presented strategies on both how to
heighten the profile of Illinois as a world leader and how to
leverage nanoscience-related talent and innovation within Illinois
to create and maintain jobs.
U.S. Representative Daniel Lipinski (D-Ill.), Chairman of the House
Science & Technology Committee's Subcommittee on Research &
Science, shared his perspective with the audience and participated
in the Q&A sessions that followed each of the three panel
sessions. Below is a collection of excerpts intended to
provide a sampling of opinions offered during the lively and
thought-provoking forum.
