Since our inception more than 25 years ago, the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition (ISTC) has worked to promote and enrich the state of Illinois’ research and technology community. Over the last several years in particular, the state has experienced significant growth in activity dedicated to fostering an Illinois economy centered around innovation. To celebrate this activity and to better understand how each piece fits together, we are excited to release the Illinois Innovation Ecosystem overview, providing insight into the key elements driving the state’s innovation economy.
We invite you to explore this unique resource and share it widely with those interested in Illinois’ dynamic and expansive innovation ecosystem. As the ecosystem evolves we will continuously update this resource and make it freely available on our website. We thank all of our members, partners and others committed to advancing Illinois’ position in the global economy. While there is more work to do, we look forward to building on the ISTC’s efforts to be a convener, catalyst, and champion for the research and tech community through our programs and activities tied to innovation, data, education and advocacy.
